Is It Too Late To Win Financially (Elaborated)?

I recently did a video called, “Is it too late for you to win financially?” I wanted to discuss a little further.

You see, this question is near and dear to me because it’s one I wrestled with for a while.

It’s amazing how much our beliefs affect us. Once we believe something to be true (whether it is or not), our thoughts follow, and our actions are right behind.

If we think it’s too late for us, we won’t do the things we need to in order to get closer to our goal.

I remember once I was talking to a guy I trained with about his finances.

This was a very successful guy. I would say he had a combined household income of at least 300K.

I was shocked when he told me, “I’m too far gone. I’ll never get ahead financially.”

Whether that was true or not was irrelevant. The fact that he believed it was all that matters. Since he believed it, he continued to live beyond his means.

You or I would realize the craziness of this but there are people who make a million dollars per year (or more) and have nothing to show for it. We all know what happened to Mike Tyson.

When I was in my early thirties, I had a negative net worth. That means I owed more (much more) than I owned.

I’m so glad I didn’t consider myself done. I decided to take some steps in the right direction and nothing I did was revolutionary. I really just started applying common sense. We put one foot in front of the other, created a vision, stopped borrowing money, stopped worrying about what other people thought, started paying our debt down, and ultimately found ourselves in a much better situation.

The truth is that at any age you can start doing things differently. You can start today and then see results tomorrow. You have to sow something so you can reap the benefit.

What doesn’t work is just working harder. Just trying to get more clients and delivering a good service isn’t enough. You need a plan! Just like our clients need to follow a series of steps to get from where they are to where they want to be, so do we.
